One More Light

When I was young, I was influenced by my friends on listening to Linkin Park. I would blast their songs loud on the radio. It somehow eased my frustration and anger during the rebellion age. I also bought a ticket to LP's concert when they were in KL many years back. That was the only time I went for a band concert, ever.

Although I don't follow their songs anymore now, it is still heart breaking to know that Chester Bennington, the lead singer, has committed suicide on 20 July 2017. One More Light is their latest album and I personally feel that it is a sad song.

For anyone that needs help or have the thought of committing suicide, do hold it for a second. Call for help! If you need someone other than your family/friends to hear you out, you can contact Befrienders at 03-79568144 or 03-79568145 or email them at sam@befrienders.org.my.

Monday Blues

Sometimes I hope I can just stay at home and don't need to worry about work.

I was watching Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Episode 85, and really fall in love with one of the guest - Chou Tzu-yu. She is from Taiwan and currently a member of a K-pop group, Twice. She is sooooo pretty and cute! >< I ended up stalking her on Google the whole day and found out that she was named 8th most beautiful in a list of "100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2016".

Knock Knock by Twice

Resuming my stalker mode. Enjoy the song!

Things to Buy for New Place

For those who have recently moved into a new house, you may be quite clueless of how to organise your things, and what to purchase. The least you want is to purchase a lot of stuff and pile them up around the house.

Here are some quick tips with a little help from Mr. DIY, Daiso and Ikea. Mr. DIY will be your most frequent place as they sell useful stuff with a reasonable price. I've been going to Mr. DIY more than Daiso since the price hike.

First, you will need to make sure your plates and pots do not scratch your tiles or drawers. So, its best for you to install drawer mats in your kitchen cabinets.

You can also get some baskets from Mr. DIY to organise your things.

The towel bar from Mr. DIY is around RM25 only. I install one in my kitchen as well to hang my hand towel and table cloth.

In case if you don't have any cooking utensils at all, you can get these from Ikea (except the wooden rolling pin on the left is from Tesco) at a really reasonable price.

Wooden spoon @ RM5.90
3 piece kitchen utensil set @ RM4.90
Dish washing brush @ RM1.50
Pastry brush @ RM3.90
Can opener @ RM6.90

And these from Mr. DIY.

Dish drainer from Ikea@ RM24.90
Cutlery stand from Ikea @ RM7.90

Charcoal sheet from Daiso to keep your refrigerator fresh from any odor.

Waste bin from Ikea @ RM3.90 each. One for normal waste, another for recycle items.

Shampoo rack from Mr. DIY. But this is not as user-friendly as I thought. If your bottles are big then it should be fine. If not, the bottles will keep falling around, which is rather annoying.

Something for your wardrobe as well! Multi-use hanger from Ikea @ RM14.90

Okay, that's all for today.
Happy shopping! :)

Crepe

I was planning to make pancake but realize that I had no baking soda. So, I decided to make crepe instead.

The ingredients that you will need:-
  • 1 cup of flour (150 grams)
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup of milk (250 grams)
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1/4 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
Cooking in action...

Step 1-5: Sift 150 grams of flour. Beat two eggs with a fork. Prepare 250 grams of milk and 1/4 tablespoon of salt. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter together with 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Step 6: Mix all the ingredients together from Step 1-5. The crepe batter should be a smooth and watery in a light custard yellow colour. To avoid lumps in your crepe batter, you can sift the batter again.

Step 7: Heat up your non-stick pan and coat it with a little bit of butter before pouring in a thin layer of crepe batter. Make sure it is balanced and covers the whole pan.

Step 8-9: Cook the crepe until golden brown and flip it quickly to avoid it being over-cooked.

Step 10: Then, you can put fillings that you like (for example, banana, honey, etc) in the middle of the crepe.

Step 11: Finally, roll your crepe and it is ready to be consumed!

Enjoy your crepe :)
